With their proposed budget, we were able to get really creative with contemporary, custom design solutions that would elevate both functionality and aesthetics.

We translated their vision into a design that seamlessly blended contemporary elegance with practical living solutions. Our design focussed on maximising natural light through floor-to-ceiling glazing, creating an indoor-outdoor connection with bi-fold glass doors.
For the heart of the home, we reimagined the kitchen and living areas into a dynamic, multi-purpose space—perfect for everything from family movie nights to entertaining guests.
Aesthetically, we introduced a palette of cedar timber cladding reflected the beauty of nearby forestry, while crisp white render added a sleek, modern touch.
We reimagined the layout to optimise space efficiency, open-plan flow. The redesign creates a welcoming family home, flooded with natural light thanks to the expansive glazing and thoughtfully places skylights and roof lanterns, promoting overall better health and mental well-being for all.

Given the home’s location within the South Downs, we had to navigate strict planning regulations aimed at preserving the area’s unique character and biodiversity. By working closely with the local authority and our clients, we refined our designs to align with both planning requirements and our clients’ aspirations.
While the client had an ambitious vision for their home, certain adjustments were necessary to align their expectations with practical and structural feasibility.
Initially, they envisioned having a roof terrace as part of their rear extension, but concerns arose around potential overlooking. Instead, we opted for a beautifully designed Juliet balcony, which maintained the openness they desired while respecting neighbouring properties.
Additionally, to meet environmental guidelines, we incorporated eco-conscious elements such as:
- Water recycling solutions
- A discreet composting system
- A soil management plan during construction
- The installation of bat and bird boxes to support local wildlife
